Fun Day with Brant

We've gotten the chance to spend a lot of time with Brant this summer. Janine and I are taking turns watching the boys when one of us has a meeting or something else to go to. Brant came over again today. Here are some pictures from the day.

I took the boys to the new McDonalds by Janine's house. It has a pretty cool playground including a nice toddler area.

The xylophone and guitar actually play music when you touch them.

I recently bought Riley a toothbrush and tried it out tonight. (Before we were using a finger toothbrush but he can bite pretty hard) He seemed to like the bristle toothbrush but he wanted to try to do it himself.

July 21st - July 25th

So I haven't updated the blog in awhile. Even though it is summer break I have been super busy. I have been taking lots of pictures though. Most of them are from my phone so they might be a little blurry. I'm separating the pictures into 3 posts to make it easier for me. Maybe later I'll have time to look and see if there is any good video footage on the camera from the last few weeks.

July 14th - July 20th

Ruby and Brant playing in the bed. He wanted to take a nap with her but I ended up having to separate them so he would sleep.

Riley likes to play with cardboard boxes. Well he decided to climb on top of one all by himself.

Then he pushed it across the room and used it to climb on the ottoman for the glider!

Brant gave Riley his rocking horse. He is showing him how to press the buttons to make it sing its creepy little song.

Riley has discovered he can open cabinets.

July 8th - July 12th

I showed Ruby so many times how the dog door works that I think Riley has figured it out.

He gets so mad that the walker won't work on carpet. I recently adapted it so it will and he really enjoys it.

Growing Up So Fast

Today Riley was dancing to the music on the TV. At least I think he was dancing. I grabbed the camera and caught a little bit of it on tape but when I tried to get a front shot he stopped doing it.



You may notice he is standing on his own and letting go of the entertainment center on the video. He is getting much better at that new skill. Here is a clip of him standing for awhile.

July 4th

To celebrate the 4th of July we went over to Ryan's mom's house. Riley got to swim with a bunch of his cousins. He loved the water of course and was laughing and babbling while he kicked his legs and moved his arms like he was swimming.

We decided to try letting him go under water!! Ryan blew in his face to make him suck in some air then they both went under. Riley didn't seem to mind at all and didn't inhale any water or cry at all. They did it 3 times and Ryan said the 3rd time Riley opened his eyes underwater. He then rubbed his eyes for a few minutes I think because of the chlorine. I think he is going to be a water baby and eventually be a great swimmer like his dad.

Then I decided to bathe Riley at Mimi's since I knew he would probably fall asleep on the way home. It was Riley's first time in a big bath and he had a great time.

Once he was fresh and clean, his cousin Shai helped feed him a bottle.
