Pictures from Aug 16 to Aug31

Riley trying to pay at Walmart

Ruby at her post.  Ready to catch any dropped food.

Riley listening to some music while he eats.

Riley went with me to work to get things set up for the start of the new school year.

Riley trying Mac N Cheese.  He seems to like it.

Who me?  I don't know what happened to the pillow.  Maybe it exploded.

More Mac N Cheese.

Great Grandparents Visit

My grandparents/ Riley's great grandparents came to visit for a few days in August.  It was great to see them.  Here are some pictures from the visit.

But Wait There's More!

So I've posted a ton of pictures already today but here are a few I forgot to put in particular posts or ones that don't really fit in any of the others. I really need to update the blog more often so I don't have so many pictures piling up to post.

Riley has outgrown his bouncers so I bought him this new chair. It supposedly works all the way up to toddlers 40 pounds.

Riley crawling through the tube at daycare.

Messy face. He was not cooperating for this meal.

He likes to put his foot up when he is drinking his bottle. :)

He loves opening cabinets and drawers now.

The high chair lets him reach new places.

Bath time!

Reading

I have been reading to Riley for awhile now but recently he has become interested in reading... well really just looking at the pictures.. on his own.

Rainbow Rob!

Sometimes he likes to look really close

Ruby Update

Ruby is still doing well. She likes to chew on some things she shouldn't but otherwise she is an awesome dog. Most importantly she is great with Riley.

Riley attacking Ruby

A few seconds later cuddling with her.

Ruby is a great vacuum. Apparently something got under the oven. She spent almost 10 minutes working to get it out.

Here are a couple of cute pictures I have taken of her recently.

Camera Capers

I've recently moved the camera in Riley's room off of his crib and onto the ceiling. It's not as nice of a shot since it is farther away but it was necessary. Here is why:

Sleeping peacefully

A bit later he wakes up and heads for the camera.
Just a few seconds after this shot I can't see anything because he has repositioned the camera. You could see his hand on the lens for a bit but I wasn't quick enough to get a picture.
This got to be a trend each day so I decided to move the camera.

Eating

Riley has been trying lots of new food lately. Here are some pictures of him eating some new things and some things he's been eating for awhile.

Pondering life while eating rice rusks.

Cheerios=Whole Grain Goodness

Ruby = The cleanup crew

Not sure what this expression was but I thought it was cute.

Bananas=Yum

Avacado aftermath. Its hard to see but he was covered in avacado from head to toe.

Avacados are fun to squish.

New High Chair

I didn't think I was going to need a high chair but the travel high chair we have been using just doesn't have some features I would like. Well when I went to hang out with Rachel and Aidan, Rachel was talking about buying a high chair. She had done all the research for and found an awesome high chair for a good price, I decided to copy her and buy the same one. It has been a great investment already in just the couple of weeks we have had it so far.

Riley test driving the high chair in the store.

He seems to like it.

It helps him hold his bottle!

Swimming Fun

Last Friday Riley and I went out to eat with my Dad, sister Janine and nephew Brant. Then we went swimming. Here are some of my favorite pictures from that day. My sister took most of them.

Grandpa and the boys on the walk to the pool.

Riley Back at Daycare

Riley started back at daycare part time two weeks ago. He only went two days a week while I was at staff development. After spending the summer together the transition back was hard on us both but I think he is getting more comfortable with it again. Next Monday he starts back full time.

Here are a few pictures I took when dropping him off at daycare. I tried to stay to get him happy and playing with toys before I snuck out but it didn't work very well. You can't see it very well but in the last picture he is chasing me to the door while crying.
